About Scouting & Pack 4490

Each boy who joins scouting will have a different reason why they joined , and each boy will have a different view of what he likes best in our program. As boys, they are constantly learning and testing their own abilities, and we need to let them grow. As parents and youth leaders, we need to find a balance so that every boy is in a safe and fun learning environment.

School teaches every child important and valuable information to guide and support themselves, and grow to be productive citizens. But increasingly, schools limit out-of-classroom life experiences and opportunities for personal growth that each boy needs to intellectually and emotionally develop.

In Scouting, parents and leaders act as teachers,but in a different learning environment where the boys have opportunities to express and challenge themselves. The boys will reflect back on their scouting years as some of the most fun and adventure they had growing up.

When a Cub joins the Pack, his parents and all of his family join the Pack. They all get the family benefit of teaching, learning, and having fun. Every Sequim parent, who can find a little time each month for some special family time, is urged to join PACK 4490; then take that additional step to help with a Den, attend the Pack meetings, or join the Committee to assist in Pack planning.
